What is the best golf bag to carry golf clubs on an international flight?

Posted in Admin Update  by admin
November 29th, 2011

Have recently bought a golf bag with dividers that dont cover the entire lenght of the clubs. Im afraid that they will be damaged on the flight by handling.Which is the best bag to buy to make sure that the clubs are safe?

I had the same problem so a friend told me about these bags made just for this problem (OGIO is the only way to go)
*BAGS*

*Monster Description
The OGIO Monster travel bag, an oversized home-away-from-home for valuable golf gear, is designed to withstand extraordinary punishment, thanks in part to its SLEDTM (Structural Load Equalizing Deck) technology. With oversized wheels to facilitate easy maneuvering, and a padded ballistic nylon and tarpaulin exterior, the OGIO Monster is equipped to manage tour bags, yet its internal cinch straps can secure even the lightest of stand bags.

*Straight Jacket Description
The Straight Jacket lives up to its name by providing exceptional stability and security to your gear. Constructed with heavy grade materials, this durable, soft-sided bag includes inline skate wheels and powerful internal cinch straps to secure and transport sizes ranging from traditional stand bags to oversize tournament bags.

How do you know the distance on a golf course?

Posted in Uncategorized  by admin
November 26th, 2011

When you play without a caddy and no birdie book, how do you know the distance for your second shot into the green?

There are generally 3 ways a golf course marks distances…

1. Sprinkler heads. Check these, they sometimes even give yardages to front, middle, and back of the green.

2. Stakes or concrete circles. These are usually on the cart path, edge of the fairway, or middle of the fairway. Red is usually 100yds, white 150yds, blue 200yds, and yellow 250yds

3. Trees/bushes. Many courses have a specific tree or bush at 50 yard intervals. They are typically 100 and 150 yards.

To get your exact yardage pace off from the nearest marker to your ball, with a step being equal to just under 1 yard (a tall person’s step = 1 yard).

As has been mentioned, there is usually also a color system or a pin designation system for pin placements. There are a couple different systems, which should be described on the scorecard.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

I want to take golf lessons and don’t know where i should get my starter set in washington, dc?

Posted in golf lessons  by admin
November 23rd, 2011

I’m 6’2 and when i have gone with friends to play the irons are to short for me. I’m not sure if I should just get fitted with a cheap set of clubs. Do i need clubs that match my height?

It would cetainly help if you were properly fitted. Its not only a case of height but the lie angle of the club heads would need to be correct as well.

As to the where? I’d go to a good golf store…..Golf Galaxy….Golf USA…..Austad’s……(to name a few) They will be able to fit you and offer suggestions as to what you need to buy.
